26 Jun Confidence at whatever cost – Was Marie Curie right?
The following quote caught my eye yesterday when I was preparing some graphics for our social media sites and it made me think…
“Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something, and that this thing, at whatever cost, must be attained.” – Marie Curie
Firstly, in a world of fake news I needed to check that was a true quote, what she actually said was “La vie n’est facile pour aucun de nous. Mais quoi, il faut avoir de la persévérance, et surtout de la confiance en soi. Il faut croire que l’on est doué pour quelque chose, et que, cette chose, il faut l’atteindre coûte que coûte” Madame Curie : A Biography (1937) by Eve Curie Labouisse. I’m told the above is a reasonable translation!
And I realised that I got really stuck on the phrase “at whatever cost”
Should we really be looking to gain confidence at any cost, or are there ways to gain new levels of confidence and accelerate your outcomes, whilst keeping it ecological and right for you?
